The History Of The Hokage In Konoha Village

Konoha has five since Hokage First Hokage founded the village of Konoha. The Hokage in general is the leader of the village and the strongest ninja of Konoha. Hokage comes from the word ho which means fire and Kage which means shadow. So Hokage can mean "shadow fire."

In serial-serial early Naruto stated that his ambition to be Hokage Hokage surpassed all his predecessors.
