Juubi rampage throughout the world, until finally the child Kaguya defeat and seal the tailed beasts into his 10's which makes it a first jinchūriki. Her son then taught to the human concept of chakras, so he became respected and known as Rikudou Sennin.
His name is probably a reference to Princess Kaguya, the main character of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter (竹 取 物 语, Taketori Monogatari), which is said to be one of the legends of Japan's oldest written record. According to legend, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter wear Hagoromo (羽衣, "fur coat") when he returns home to his kingdom. His last name literally means Big Cylinder Tree (大 筒 木,Ōtsutsuki).
